The Central EMS Communications Center achieved Re-Accreditation with the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch (NAED) in April. We are still the only EMD accredited dispatch center in the state of Arkansas.
Central EMS has 18 certified dispatchers that are the heart of the Communication Center. They answer seven 911 lines, several business lines as well as talk on the radio with all Central EMS units, sixteen fire departments, Washington County Emergency Management, Coroner and Search and Rescue.
The Washington County Fire Departments moved from the Conventional UHF Radio System to the Pass-Port Trunking Radio System in late 2010. Now both Ambulance and Fire Dispatch are in compliance with Federal Narrow-Banding regulations well ahead of schedule.
Central EMS Dispatchers deliver dependable, consistent patient care and customer service. They have met and exceeded compliance requirements since our initial Accreditation in 2007.
Our dispatchers can be relied on to assist 911 callers through times of crisis, confusion and distress.
