Employment Application

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Summary:
Under general supervision, provides basic level emergency and non-emergency care to the ill and injured, to include assessment of illness and/or injury, management of such patients, preparation for transport, transfer of information, and patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Attends emergency and non-emergency medical requests as they arise, renders on-site assistance to patients as requires.
  2. Performs or assists in the initial assessment and management of illness or injury to emergency patients in accordance with specified protocol and procedure.
  3. Prepares or assists in the preparation of patients for transport.
  4. Inspects emergency medical equipment to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards.
  5. Performs daily duties and other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Arkansas Licensure as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
  3. Arkansas Driver’s License-valid.
  4. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR.

Paramedic
Summary:
Provide basic to advanced emergency and non-emergency paramedical care to the ill and injured. Guides and directs EMTs in the application of appropriate EMS techniques, as required. Performs direct illness/injury assessment and management, preparation for transport, transfer of required information, and patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Attends emergency and non-emergency medical requests as they arise, renders on-site assistance to patients as required.
  2. Performs initial assessment and management of illness or injury to emergency patients in accordance with specified protocol and procedures.
  3. Prepares or assists in the preparations of patients for transport, ensuring compliance with protocol and procedure.
  4. Provides direct advanced life support and pre-hospital emergency patient care as required in each individual case.
  5. Leads, guides, and/or assists in training of EMTs, new hires and students, as specifically assigned.
  6. Inspects emergency medical equipment to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards.
  7. Performs daily duties and miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Arkansas Licensure as Paramedic.
  3. Arkansas Driver’s License-valid.
  4. ACLS, PALS, PHTLS preferred.
