Central EMS is hiring for the following positions:
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Summary:
Under general supervision, provides basic level emergency and non-emergency care to the ill and injured, to include assessment of illness and/or injury, management of such patients, preparation for transport, transfer of information, and patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attends emergency and non-emergency medical requests as they arise, renders on-site assistance to patients as requires.
- Performs or assists in the initial assessment and management of illness or injury to emergency patients in accordance with specified protocol and procedure.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of patients for transport.
- Inspects emergency medical equipment to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards.
- Performs daily duties and other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Arkansas Licensure as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Arkansas Driver’s License-valid.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR.
Paramedic
Summary:
Provide basic to advanced emergency and non-emergency paramedical care to the ill and injured. Guides and directs EMTs in the application of appropriate EMS techniques, as required. Performs direct illness/injury assessment and management, preparation for transport, transfer of required information, and patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attends emergency and non-emergency medical requests as they arise, renders on-site assistance to patients as required.
- Performs initial assessment and management of illness or injury to emergency patients in accordance with specified protocol and procedures.
- Prepares or assists in the preparations of patients for transport, ensuring compliance with protocol and procedure.
- Provides direct advanced life support and pre-hospital emergency patient care as required in each individual case.
- Leads, guides, and/or assists in training of EMTs, new hires and students, as specifically assigned.
- Inspects emergency medical equipment to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards.
- Performs daily duties and miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Arkansas Licensure as Paramedic.
- Arkansas Driver’s License-valid.
- ACLS, PALS, PHTLS preferred.
